If you still don't understand, just know that this is really cool, and it will help you. A clip won't freak out anymore if there is no clip below it on the timeline. What does this mean? It means that you can now key-frame, animate, transition, fade, mask, etc. If all these new features aren't enough, I have improved the auto-compositing capability of OpenShot to include all tracks (including the bottom track). Especially if you slow down a clip, and then set it's direction to reverse. just a warning, this seems a bit buggy with MLT. (In my opinion for this to be simple it would have to be part of the advanced speed settings of a clip. You can also set the direction of a clip (forward / reverse). (It would also be great if the audio came with it but I know that is already requested.) I would gladly provide pseudo code and/or calculus help. There is also the added problem of having all the multiple segments to deal with which would require an additional export to make them usable as a unit. Trying to figure out the correct way to slice the clips required a bit of calculus in the case of a tapered speed ramp. Faster speeds require larger original clip segments and slower speeds require smaller original clip segments. This is time consuming and technically difficult. Further more, it would be nice to pick whether this transition happens in a linear fashion (abrupt start and end) or tapered fashion (smoothed start and end).Ĭurrently it is possible to cut a clip into multiple segments and increment each clip from your required start speed to your end speed. It would be nice to be able to take a clip and have it transition from one speed to another gradually.
